Jaswant Singh Kanwal was born in Dhudike in Moga district and spent most of his life there. His novels, from Raat Baaki Hai to Lahu Di Lo, are about the Punjabi peasant, love, injustice and the dream of revolution, and were read by generations of young Punjabis.
