Raj Kapoor

ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰراج کپور

Actor and director born in Peshawar whose tramp in Awaara and Shree 420 was loved from Moscow to Cairo.

Raj Kapoor was born in the Kapoor family haveli in Peshawar. As director and star of Awaara (1951) and Shree 420 (1955) he created a Chaplin-like tramp, poor, honest and hopeful, whose songs were sung across Asia, the Soviet Union and the Middle East.
