Khwaja Ghulam Farid's shrine, Kot Mithan

ਖ਼ਵਾਜਾ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਫ਼ਰੀਦ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ

Shrine on the Indus of the great Saraiki poet of the desert, Khwaja Ghulam Farid.

Khwaja Ghulam Farid (1845 – 1901) spent years in the Cholistan desert and wrote kafis in Saraiki about love, the rains and the sand dunes of the Rohi. He was a teacher of the Nawabs of Bahawalpur.

His shrine at Kot Mithan, on the west bank of the Indus near the meeting of the five rivers, is visited by singers who come to perform his poems.
