Shah Shams's shrine, Multan

ਸ਼ਾਹ ਸ਼ਮਸ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ

Green-domed shrine of a wandering saint who, the story goes, asked the sun to come down and roast his fish.

The shrine of Shah Shams Sabzwari, often called Shams Tabrez, stands on the banks of the old bed of the Ravi in Multan. Its saint came from Persia in the 13th century and is revered by Sunnis, Shias and Ismailis.

Multan's people say that when no one would cook for him, he called the sun closer to roast his fish, and that is why Multan is so hot.
