A farming community of all three faiths, whose name recalls the ancient Kamboja people of the north-west mentioned in Sanskrit and Pali texts, though the link is uncertain.
Udham Singh, who shot Michael O'Dwyer in London in 1940 to avenge Jallianwala Bagh, was a Kamboj of Sunam.
