The last British Governor of the Punjab, who ruled it directly from March to August 1947.
After Khizar resigned in March 1947 Jenkins governed the province himself. He warned the Viceroy again and again that partition would bring killing on a vast scale, and asked for the boundary to be announced early; it was not.
