Heer Ranjha (1970)
Lahore's great film of Waris Shah's Heer, with Firdous and Ijaz and songs by Noor Jehan.
Made in Lahore by Masud Pervez with music by Khwaja Khurshid Anwar, Heer Ranjha starred Firdous as Heer and Ijaz Durrani as Ranjha, and told the story in the words of Waris Shah. Noor Jehan's songs from it are still sung at weddings, and it is remembered as the finest Pakistani Punjabi film.
