Maharani Datar Kaur (Mai Nakain)
Ranjit Singh's wife from the Nakai misl and mother of Kharak Singh, who accompanied the Multan campaign and handled its supplies.
Datar Kaur was born in 1784, the daughter of the chief of the Nakai misl, and married Ranjit Singh in 1797; she was called Mai Nakain. She was the mother of his heir, Kharak Singh.
She was one of the few people the Maharaja trusted fully. She accompanied her son on the Multan campaign of 1818 and took charge of supplies; Ranjit Singh valued her judgement and gave her a great estate at Sheikhupura.
She died in 1838, a year before the Maharaja.
