Giddha is usually a women's dance, but in the Malwa older men had their own. They stand in a ring, and one after another steps forward to sing a boli, often teasing or bawdy, while the others answer and play the kato, sapp, bugchu, chimta and ghara.
Malwai giddha is now a fixture of youth festivals, where teams of young men wear the old tehmat and kurta and carry the folk instruments.
