Truck art

ਟਰੱਕ ਆਰਟ

The painted trucks of Pakistan: every inch covered in flowers, birds, poetry, heroes and mirrors.

How Pakistani truck art is made · Watch on YouTube

Pakistan's lorries and buses are the most decorated in the world. In workshops in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi, painters, carpenters and metalworkers cover trucks with panels of flowers, peacocks, mountains, film stars and heroes, Punjabi couplets and prayers, chains and mirrors.

The owner spends a fortune on it, for a truck is a driver's home and pride; truck art is now copied on teapots, bags and walls around the world.
