Tarain

Where Prithviraj Chauhan defeated Muhammad of Ghor in 1191 and lost to him in 1192.

Tarain, now Taraori, is near Karnal in Haryana. Here Prithviraj Chauhan defeated Muhammad of Ghor in 1191, and lost to him in 1192.

The second battle opened the way for the Delhi Sultanate.

A Mughal sarai survives in the town.
