Ramnagar

ਰਾਮਨਗਰرسول نگر

Cavalry clash on the Chenab in November 1848 at the start of the Second Anglo-Sikh War.

Ramnagar, originally Rasulnagar, is a town on the Chenab in Gujranwala district, renamed by Mahan Singh Sukerchakia after he took it.

In November 1848 a British cavalry charge here was repulsed by the Sikh guns on the far bank, in the opening battle of the Second Anglo-Sikh War.

It is now a small town in Pakistan.
