Tilla Baba Farid, Faridkot

ਟਿੱਲਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਫ਼ਰੀਦ

The place in Faridkot where Baba Farid is said to have stopped on his travels, and after whom the town is named.

Faridkot, tradition says, took its name from Baba Farid, who stopped here on his travels in the 13th century. The Tilla, a mound where he is said to have sat, is kept by a Sikh society and visited by people of every faith.

Every September the town holds a festival in his name, the Sheikh Farid Aagman Purb, with music and poetry.
