Chappar Chiri
Field where Banda Singh's army defeated and killed Wazir Khan in May 1710. A tall Fateh Burj tower now marks the site.
Chappar Chiri is a village near Mohali, on the plain between Kharar and Sirhind. On 12 May 1710 Banda Singh Bahadur's army defeated the army of Sirhind here and killed its governor, Wazir Khan.
In 2011 the Punjab government built the Fateh Burj, a victory tower some hundred metres high, said to be the tallest in India, in a memorial park on the battlefield.
