ਮਨੂਪੁਰمنوپور دی لڑائی

Where a Mughal army stopped Ahmad Shah Abdali's first invasion in March 1748.

Manupur is a village near Sirhind in Fatehgarh Sahib district. In March 1748 a Mughal army stopped Ahmad Shah Abdali's first invasion here, the only time he was beaten in a pitched battle in India.

The Mughal wazir Qamar-ud-din was killed, and his son Mir Mannu became governor of Lahore.

The village is now farmland.
