ਕਲਾਨੌਰکلانور

Where the thirteen-year-old Akbar was enthroned on a brick platform in February 1556.

Kalanaur is a town in Gurdaspur district. On 14 February 1556 the thirteen-year-old Akbar was crowned here on a brick platform in a garden on news of his father Humayun's death, while his army was campaigning nearby.

The platform, the Takht-i-Akbari, still survives.

Banda Singh Bahadur also took Kalanaur in his campaigns.
